1. Who we are
Marco Ferra (“we”, “us”) operates Astro Notes at astronotes.eu. These terms are our agreement with you. By creating an account or using Astro Notes, you accept them.
2. The service
Astro Notes is an end-to-end encrypted notes service with sync, live collaboration and plain-text export. We cannot read, recover or hand over your notes. Features and limits may change as the service evolves.
3. Your account
You need to be at least 16. You are responsible for your credentials, your account's activity and what you create and share. We hold no copy of your keys. If you lose both your password and your recovery key, your notes are permanently unrecoverable, so please keep the recovery key safe and export anything you cannot afford to lose.
4. Acceptable use
Please do not use Astro Notes to break the law or infringe others’ rights, to store or share content you have no right to, to attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service or get around its security or limits, to resell or provide it to others, or to harass, impersonate or abuse others on the command bridge. We act on abuse we can detect and on lawful reports, and may suspend accounts that breach these terms.
5. Plans and billing
The free plan includes 10 MB of encrypted storage across the account, with no cap on the number of notes. Orbit, the paid plan, multiplies that allowance under a fair-use limit and adds note history and live collaboration. We may contact you before applying limits to usage far beyond typical personal use.
Orbit is billed in advance through Stripe on the interval you choose (monthly or yearly), and needs a verified email address for invoices. It renews automatically until you cancel, and prices may change with prior notice. You can cancel at any time in Account settings and keep access until the end of the paid period. If a plan lapses, your notes stay readable and exportable.
EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Orbit is a digital service that starts at once, so by subscribing you ask us to begin immediately and acknowledge that this right is lost once the period begins. Payments are otherwise non-refundable, except where the law requires.
6. Your content
Your notes are yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store and transmit their ciphertext, and we never use your content to train models or for advertising.
7. The command bridge
Orbit includes the command bridge, one channel every subscriber can read. Transmissions cannot be edited or deleted, even by us, and are removed after 30 days. Deleting your account removes your name from them at once. Please treat the bridge as public. We cannot read or moderate it, but you can silence any subscriber for yourself, and we may withdraw access for breaches of these terms.
8. Availability and liability
We provide Astro Notes “as is”, without warranties, to the extent the law allows. To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for data lost through lost credentials, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including for death, personal injury or fraud.
9. Ending your account
You may delete your account at any time in Account settings, which destroys your data and cancels any subscription. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or the law, with notice where practical.
10. Changes and governing law
We announce material changes in the app before they take effect, and continued use means you accept them. Portuguese law governs these terms, and disputes go to the courts of our domicile, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection where you live.
