Astro Notes · end-to-end encrypted notes, sealed on your device
Most notes apps can read everything you write. Astro Notes cannot — and that is the whole point. Every note is encrypted on your device before launch; the server only ever stores ciphertext. Not us, not a data breach, not anyone else can read your notes. Only you.
Start writing — free, no email requiredYour password never leaves your device. It derives the keys that seal your notes (AES-256-GCM, keys derived in your browser), and a one-time recovery key is your spare. We could not hand your notes to anyone even if we were asked to — we simply do not have them.
Notes sync across all your devices and merge cleanly, even after you write offline — no conflicts, no lost keystrokes. Orbit, the paid plan, also remembers every version of a note, so you can travel back and restore anything.
Share a note with your crew and write in it together, live, with visible cursors — while the note stays sealed end to end. The server relays only ciphertext, even during live collaboration.
Everything is a keystroke away: a command palette, shortcuts for every action, and instant full-text search across your whole archive — which runs on your device, because that is the only place your notes exist in readable form.
Notes are plain Markdown, and the whole archive exports to ordinary files at any time. Leaving is easy — that is why you can stay with confidence. No lock-in, ever.
The free plan is genuinely useful: 100 notes, every security guarantee, search, sync, and export included. Orbit adds note history, live sharing with your crew, and removes the limits — and if it ever lapses, your notes always stay readable and exportable.
